Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water (room temperature)
- 3/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/3 cup sugar, (for separate step)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 4 eggs, (beaten)
- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° F
- Add 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast to water. Leave sitting for 10 minutes.
- Mix 1/3 cup sugar and shortening in new bowl.
- Add salt and eggs to water mixture, slowly add flour until evenly mixed. Cover and allow for rising (about 45 minutes).
- Cut dough into even pieces and shape into balls. Place on greased baking sheet, slightly flatten dough and bake for 15 minutes (until golden brown).
