Ingredients
1/2 cup water (room temperature)
3/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/3 cup sugar, (for separate step)
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
4 eggs, (beaten)
1 tablespoon dry yeast
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F
Add 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast to water. Leave sitting for 10 minutes.
Mix 1/3 cup sugar and shortening in new bowl.
Add salt and eggs to water mixture, slowly add flour until evenly mixed. Cover and allow for rising (about 45 minutes).
Cut dough into even pieces and shape into balls. Place on greased baking sheet, slightly flatten dough and bake for 15 minutes (until golden brown).
